Presented by Ocarina House, this performance introduces students to the ocarina, a wind instrument originating from Italy that is widely popular across Asia. Known for being easy to learn and highly versatile, the ocarina can usually be picked up within minutes.

 

The ensemble will showcase a variety of ocarinas—from four to twelve finger holes to multi-chamber instruments—while sharing the history and background of this ancient instrument. Through a light-hearted and engaging presentation, the performance features local tunes (xinyao and folk songs) as well as animation theme songs, presented in solo, duet, trio and quartet formats.

 

Students will also be invited onstage to learn and perform the ocarina instantly, making this an interactive and enjoyable experience that inspires future music-making opportunities for both students and teachers.
